Cyber Love from Cyber Love by Skyko

Cyber Love is the first release where I stopped trying to "Fit into a box or genre" and wrote what I wanted to write. Up until this point, I felt like I had to fit into some "category" in order to have my music listened to and appreciated by people.

This track came out of a daydream I had while locking myself away in my studio for months on end. I was SO tired of writing the "Thump, Thump, Thump - four on the floor" House and Trance music that my head was about to explode. I had had ENOUGH of it.

I let my mind drift off into another space another time - The time of my youth, Playing video games and living carefree. So much of the music work I do in the studio has to do with digital media that the lyrics just came naturally. As if by creating this music, videos and artwork I had been creating an alternate world. (Which in a way I was).

My favorite line is: "My friends have all stopped calling me
'Cause they know I'm never coming out
It's been about seven weeks
I better step outside for air
I've been spending my time online - designing
Me inside a video game with you".

It's pretty much true. I've cut off the outside world and continue along this journey alone, in seclusion, away from the harsh reality of mainstream life.

I feel that I was pretty foolish for limiting myself, but hey what can ya do...
