Exit 8 is a love song about being obsessed with someone and rediscovering the world around you with them. It's about wanting to know everything about them and finding immense value in the small things in life, like watching the stars or petting a cat together. The summer after I began dating my girlfriend, we lived an hour away from each other in East Tennessee. Every week I'd get on the interstate and make the drive to see her. I knew I was getting close when I took exit 8.
