I started recording music when I was 15 on a Tascam 424 cassette recorder, & started writing electronic music 25 years ago, just out of college after getting my first audio-capable computer. I’ve finished upwards of 1100 tracks since. I’ve pared down ~450+ songs that I’d like to release from my back catalog before I die. To that end, I am very happy to announce the first selection of these on my new sineqube album “Lilt”. The process of curating two & a half decades worth of material has been slow-going, but highly-nostalgic. These pieces have been old friends of mine & my wife for a long time. There is a vast range of tone in the full catalog, & so I categorized things by mood: “experimental/glitchy”, “soft/minimal”, etc. With my last album “Abiogenesis” being heavier, I thought tracks from the “soft/groovy” heading might be a nice contrast. These songs are chill, melodic, & always make me smile. I hope you enjoy them, and thanks for sharing some of your time with me by listening.
Kevin Holland creates original improvised soundscapes & computer music compositions by orchestrating & layering the vast timbral palettes of guitar & electronics. Playing with the balance between tranquil beds of ambience & the uncharted frontiers of experimental music, he fuses elements of both to paint a live aural canvas that is exploratory, lilting, & inviting.
