Shems from Feenkoum? by Dar Haleshla
“Shems” means “Sun” and is the second single from the Dar Haleshla EP “Feenkoum?”. Based around a fusion groove of a driving house music drum beat and arrangements from French producer Delta Patch and a percussion polyrhythm from Moroccan “Aissawa” music, it features Mouna Eddrou’s floating, beautiful lyrics in French and a funky, syncopated percussion arrangement. This well-crafted fusion makes for a hypnotic, heady and innovative house music track.
Simon is a drummer, percussionist, rhythm guitarist, singer and songwriter.
He played for years on the London professional scene including top show business contracts. He has accompanied artists like Natacha Atlas, Yasmin Levy, Abdullah Chhadeh, Hassan Erraji and Haleshla and electro fusion groups like Oojami and Momo.
