Blaadi from Sharka by Chaka Chouka
Blaadi. “Blaadi” means “my country” in Moroccan Arabic and Mouna’s lyrics reflect the bittersweet feelings of the children of immigrant families towards a “homeland”. Haji Mike experienced this kind of uprootment from Cyprus to Britain and as a refuge in his own homeland.
Simon is a drummer, percussionist, rhythm guitarist, singer and songwriter.
He played for years on the London professional scene including top show business contracts. He has accompanied artists like Natacha Atlas, Yasmin Levy, Abdullah Chhadeh, Hassan Erraji and Haleshla and electro fusion groups like Oojami and Momo.
