Lyrics

So now you've gone away,
Now you've stolen the words.
Do you think it will be the same?
I want to know how this all grew, and why,
Why it took you so far away?

A face can get tedious, when you've seen it enough times.
You notice the cracks and falter,
You hate the hates aside, grieve the moment I turn away,
Knowing it's not the last time.

But it was some insurance,
Price to pay, and play the odds.
Another meeting ground,
A place to stay and stay.
Perpetual youth not lost,
When coming to day to day.
Mistakes not learned from,
As a weary summer wanes and sputters.

Just another canvas sky,
From a small home far away.
I can’t find the words to say,
We’d be much happier an hour, a breath, a life, a death away.

I'm discontented and not a little fragile,
Having to think once again.
Never turning over that mythical new leaf,
I want the old one a little while.
But it's wrong of me to suggest that I'd never come back,
But further still, I'd not stay,
Given half a chance I’d leave here now
I’d do it gladly.
But it was some insurance,
Price to pay, and play the odds.
Another meeting ground,
A place to stay and stay.
Perpetual youth not lost,
When coming to day to day.
Mistakes not learned from,
As a weary summer wanes and sputters.

Just another canvas sky,
From a small home far away.
I can’t find the words to say,
We’d be much happier an hour, a breath, a life, a death away.
