Argon by Small Life Form
Since 1998 Small Life Form has been about Brian John Mitchell exploring sound & drone with a heavy influence from his immediate environments, conversations with friends, & literary materials. From 2022-2024 Mitchell worked in a laboratory at an iron foundry, filled with the sounds of both highly sophisticated equipment & industrial machinery. The source sound for Argon is an argon tank used to fuel a spectrometer; heavily manipulated, stretched, & looped into a slab of drone. Simultaneously heavenly & subterranean, passive & aggressive, bleak & hopeful, past & future. Drone on!
