I’ve been playing around with the concept of 'MUSIQ4LYFEXTENSION' for almost a decade now, as it took me a while to find the right set of songs that fit the title appropriately. After a few months of ketamine therapy for chronic pain and childhood trauma, the psychedelic visuals of the drug allowed me to astral travel through a wormhole to 100 or so years into the future, or so it felt. I started to become obsessed with the idea of a “digital” experience vs an “analog” one, as an analogy to describe the K-HOLE, as a means of ridding oneself of physically stored trauma.
I find the trip to be a healing and almost futuristic and digital take on ayahuasca, as these trips I’ve taken over the last year or so have informed the way I title these set of tracks.
When the visual part of the ketamine journey~space ends, I tend to find myself ridding my body of all the aforementioned stored trauma that’s been gestating for years. Sometimes at the peak of these experiences, I feel like I'm a lightning rod between the hyper-reality of the K Space and the analog “normal” reality consciousness state.
These set of songs are my way of translating these incredibly hard to explain experiences in words instead into holographic representations of ego loss. Each track can also be thought of as its own ~futuristic audio drug~ that extends our lives by tens of years, by chipping away our egos slowly over time. A potential soundtrack to accompany this kind of concept: 'MUSIQ4LYFEXTENSION'.
-------
An alien spaceship crashes into a forest. The fuel of the ship seeps into a pond that feeds the plant matter around it. Years in the future while walking in the woods a person finds a mysterious cassette player next to a grove of glowing mushrooms beside that same pond. The mushrooms have grown into the player and poke out of the crevices. The person takes the cassette player home and listens to what is inside. The next day they notice their finger-nail glowing. They listen to the album again and they wake up in the morning with their whole finger glowing. After each full listen a new part of their body becomes this glowing synthetic matter. They are slowly turning into a machine. After listening to the album one hundred times they are fully transformed and have turned immortal.
