My friend David from Berklee asked me to play at a church where he conducted the choir. I used to perform, at the high holidays with the black community, and found what Gospel music was all about. So I decided to compose a Gospel tune with Middle Eastern rhythms to it.
My Gospel came out with an interesting asymmetrical format. An A section of eleven bars, and a B section of thirteen bars, The whol piece has a Lydian flavor to it.
