Oddyssey by Shiryu

Twenty five years of Shiryu Music! Best word to describe this dream-like accidental quirky hobby turned career is "insane". I do assume that for long time fans pulling this stunt of releasing a new original album on my birthday is nothing new. Yet progress on this one was kinda bumpy, had to cut a few WIP tracks that might show up in the future, some mixed results on what I was going for (back to techno roots, less trance, more experimental) and unexpected life stuff getting on the way (from unplanned surgery to work place drama) so I do expect to actually surprise a few of you old school fans. The end result is a bit on the odd side of the spectrum so hence the title "Oddyssey". Not a typo, folks!

Tried my hand at some text-to-speech voice generators for some of the lyrics, the odd wink here and there to anime ("Nier Automata" and "Space Battleship Yamato"), a couple of (long overdue!) tributes to "Mad Max: Fury Road" (because I recently spent several months completing the 2015 video game), a very weird pseudo-metal tribute to the "Valfaris" game series, a couple of Jorodowsky tributes for "The Incal" and "The Metabaron" series and even a Gandalf tribute to the utterly community-divisive "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" TV web series. Rounding things up with a intro and outro track and there here have it "in your hands", a brand new Shiryu Music 2024 original LP!

As time continue to pass and old age is getting into my bones, i won't lie and say that this is getting any easier, but despite the tremendous mental strain to produce these, the truth is in the end that they help do me cope with life. Hurray for music! See you next release! v ^_^
