Transformation by Sherry Finzer & Darin Mahoney
Some instruments just sound wonderful together. Such is the case of flute and acoustic guitar. That sound is what you will hear from the duo Sherry Finzer & Darin Mahoney on their first album together, TRANSFORMATION. Sherry and Darin deeply appreciate the acoustic alchemy they create together. Darin’s finger-style playing evokes a nostalgic ambience, while Sherry’s flute glides in gracefully at just the right moments.
Both musicians have had personal transformations. On the musical level, Finzer went from being a classical flutist winning competitions to recording acclaimed new age music albums, including her SANCTUARY series. Mahoney came from the direction of country, rock and folk music before turning his talent to soft instrumental acoustic guitar music and his own solo album, IN THE GRAIN.

Flutist Sherry Finzer and guitarist Darin Mahoney first teamed up in 2011 on Sherry's release Sanctuary II:Earth. After realizing the musical connection and chemistry they had together they decided to record their first full-length album together, Transformation, in 2013. Transformation won Album of the Year from One World Music Radio in the UK in 2013, and is heard on Pandora, SXM Spa Channel.
