Better or worse it’s so hard to tell
I have to blame something, this soul just won’t sell
Midnight has fallen alone on this road again
Have to find someone to lead me back home
I know the they’re out there It’s taken so long
Angels have fallen alone on this road again

Caught ‘tween the Devil and the deep blue sea
No sight of land that I can reach
Threw all my coins in a well that was dry now I’m drifting
I’m drifting, along

This morning tide turns, Are you waiting are you waiting
Hold on tight to your hope, While you’re waiting while you’re waiting
Like driftwood afloat, Are you waiting are you waiting
You’re not on your own

Maybe I’m cursed it’s so hard to tell
I have to believe heaven follows this hell
Darkness has fallen I can’t see what lies ahead
Have to find someone who’ll teach me the ropes
There’s bridges to cross and my pride to outgrow for
Friends that have waited to meet on this road again

Land of the living where the lines are all crossed
Bring out your dead fill the streets with their dust
Share out your knowledge with words to the wise
