"This is an odd release. These are odd recordings. Poorly microphoned and recorded, poorly mixed, and, in some cases, even poorly executed. I like to imagine these performances as field recordings of rituals. Liminal songs. Meditations on separation and incorporation. Everything here is procedural. All of these songs are instant composition, developed while playing/recording throughout 2014 and 2015 over a course of 9 months. Some people died. One was born. Some came back to life. So are these songs. Without much ado, this is maybe the most personal music I’ve ever been recording. What you hear on this release are the ones which aren’t dead, or which returned, or which were able to shift, had the ability to transcend. Death is just a process, a shift from one state into another."
