Art+Songs by Seamus Carmichael
This was the Covid19 lockdown project, an album of the songs most requested from our sessions. I invited a handful of players along to add to the live feel, however some of the unaccompanied ones were given guitar backing during the mixing stage. The recordings were made September & October 2020 at Ken Gehret's home studio in Reading, PA. The cover image and the image on the liner notes are two of the songs for which I have created paintings. Seamus Carmichael is a traditional singer from County Derry, Northern Ireland. He sings songs in Irish and English and plays tin whistle and harmonica. His own songs, comic and serious, spring from the folk tradition. Seamus performs at festivals and Sessions in New York and Pennsylvania where he has lived since the 1980s
