Temporas Synesis by MSP Noise Trio

"Temporas Synesis" arose from a live collaboration between the pianist Simone Weißenfels, the "accidental guitarist" Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt and the bass player Yann Keller which, for this concert that took place at Tonhalle - Hannover (Germany), presented themselves under the name of MSP NOISE TRIO. I must start by saying that, listening to this improvisational performance, the first emotion that captures my brain is the intense feeling of communication and embrace between the three involved Artists, and how masterfully their Art communicates to the listener. Absolutely stunning!

Marquardt's accidental guitar screams and burbles within a fugitive noisy atmosphere. These are desolate lands. Brooding chords roll underneath rain spatters, guttural bass frequency tones and fluttered outbursts. Subtle and explosive multi-phonics blend and break entrancingly within the barbarous severity of Keller’s impenetrable bass flow. A visual quality is created, visionary "strident and screeching" tones and growling rivers of apocalyptic ages harmony form a filmstrip in the mind of an empty landscape populated only with abandoned buildings and contemplation. Weißenfels' piano unsettles the mood further by adding a strange lunacy to this depopulated inscape. The melodies are surreal in a ceremonial way, entrancing, meditative, pensive, like sounds for divination as well as the guide itself of the whole performative path. Wasteland vegetation fills in every available niche along this cryptic urban circuit board. Are these the lanes ghosts move through in their emanation through the labyrinths of a hidden memory?

The quiet intensity of the (dis)harmonic sequence begins to overwhelm as waves of light cleanse the mind. The gulfs within the spectrum are held in temporary balance by the scales in the sky as all the different frequencies mesh into a psychedelic reel. Primal intuition warns in this expanse then thunderously becomes clear at the point that, with a more mindful listen, "Temporas Synesis" becomes a charming introspective experience, conjuring images and feelings of unity molded into an overwhelming improvisational balance.
