Ačkoliv se Basement zvukem i textem zdá být jenom co nejbrutálnější, jeho význam je ale kompexnější. I když v širokých metaforách, písnička zmiňuje vězení, které si v hlavě vytváříme sami. Nenávist k člověku, který nám ublížil, si nezaslouží větěší pozornost, jinak v sobě vytváříme posedlost pomstou, která dříve či později vypálí zpátky.
