LEGION by Sarys
LEGION is a project I’ve been developing for about four years.
I wanted to return to the dystopian/cyberpunk music genre that I first explored with The Last Night game jam, the early development of the game, and my previous album A Night To Remember.
The project is inspired by the Yak statues found in Buddhist temples in Thailand, and draws from a wide mix of ideas and genres. Influences include Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Cyberpunk RED, and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as artists like Lorn, Kenji Kawai, and Carpenter Brut.
At its core, LEGION tells the story of a rogue AI. Initially created to unite humankind, it slowly develops a god complex and evolves into a cult-like figure, using MK Ultra–style techniques to manipulate and control humanity.
