We began this album six years ago. The boys wanted to record some new songs of mine, but I had just finished The Many Moods of Papa Twig album and had no new material. Instead, we tracked a few unrecorded old songs which Brian and Michael brought new life to. In addition, the boys put their own spin on songs I already had recorded. Along the way, we were joined by guest artists contributing their talents — including Todd Rundgren, Mac DeMarco, Sean Ono Lennon, Matt Jardine, Darian Sahanaja, and Probyn Gregory, who all did a splendid job.
