Past Forward by Ron Coolen
On November 7, I have released my new EP Past Forward via RC Music. The EP contains five surprising hardrock and heavy metal versions of iconic pop classics: Mercy (Duffy), Hysteria (Muse), Play Dead (Björk), Adolescent Sex (Japan), and Corner of the Earth (Jamiroquai).
Not just one-on-one covers, but bold re-arrangements with personal meaning, dedicated to my loved ones.
Guest musicians include:
* Chris Clancy (vocals, also featured on my debut Rise)
* Cheza Taylor (lead guitar, 18-year-old daughter of shred legend Derek Taylor)
* Timo Somers (lead guitar, known from Delain, Ayreon, Charlotte Wessels, also featured on Here to Stay)
* Steve Wilikin and Hans Pieters (bass guitar)
I played guitars, drums, and keyboards myself.
With Past Forward, I take a next step in my career. After two full-length albums, this is my first EP – offering more creative freedom and a faster release cycle.
