Nightwatch - Uhtceare:
This song started with the lyric "I'll lie to the lies my body's telling, and hope that soon those lies bloom truth in my eye" long nights kinda soaking in saddness, but started just telling myself that one day I'd get to the other side of this feeling.
This originally was not the first track, but I had my friend Rose Stoller (she is amazing hands down one of the best singers in NY, def give her a follow @weirdsoundgirl on instagram) sing harmonies and the intro, and it turned out so striking for me that I had change up the track order.
Uhtceare - An Old English word meaning to lie awake anxiously before dawn. I just love archaic words. They often capture a really specific feeling that modern words have eschewed for more general meaning, that you can eventually get to but takes longer. Apricity is a fav or mine and another example its the warmth of the sun in the winter. Shout out to Andrew Bird for inspiring this love while I was in college.
