One of the older songs on the album written around the same time as Creek Empire ~2014
My favorite band of all time Goodnight Brother put out an Ep for a tour they were doing and had clips from some Jack and the Beanstalk thing (https://goodnightbrother.bandcamp.com/album/the-goodnight-brother-extended-play) which inspired me to read up about it and found that Jack is an asshole, stroytellers eventually added the other detail of the giant stole his fathers wealth.
It is scary writing a song then years later coming back to and finding pieces of yourself in there that you didnt know about, there was definitely a time I felt and believed that love alone will get us through and that thing will work out because things are "meant to be"
shout out to Midsummer Night's Dream for the chorus and outro to this one.
The outro is one of my favorite parts on the album Desmond Teague, just fucking killed it, just brought his horns in and said hit play, then "oh i hear another line" he's fucking incredible and I'm lucky to have gotten the chance to work with him before he blows up
