For me this was the first song for the album, and is where the album pull its name from. After the break, my best friend had also gone through something similar and I remember standing in the kitchen with him just both us laughing, commiserating and wondering if maybe we should give up, but seeing him eventually get past that sadness and eventually find his person filled me with such joy. I wrote this when I decided that I wanted to start trying again. I had somewhat gotten into comics and read about the Blue Lantern Corp and their "All Will be Well" really stuck with me. For those who dont know Earthbound is one of my favorite games, its where the psi in my handle comes from. The blind optimism of Pollyanna, a song from the game, was something that I started taking with me. I thought faith was a brave thing to have, that you cant have one without the other, and I think thats what I wanted the thesis of the album to be. "Courage is the heart of hope, A Different Kind of Light"
