My husband is a wonderful writer and poet. He studies the structure of poetry, and one of the tasks that he has given himself is to write a poem for each form of Irish poetry which features different Sídhe, or what is more commonly known as "fairies", though that's a bit of a reductive term.
He wrote a poem about a little girl who doesn't know that she is a cat sídhe. I was so moved by the poem that I was inspired to write a song about it. It was never my intention to do anything with the song as the story truly belonged to my husband, but we found that something beautiful happened when we combined the two art forms to tell the story of this mysterious little girl.
