Loosely based on the South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim's song of the same name. Zimbabwe is a tribute to the power of African music. Abdullah Ibrahim is one of my great idols, and his compositions have followed me through life.

Robin Cochrane is a drummer, percussionist and student of African music based in Stockholm, Sweden. Afrikalou is Robin's first album using his real name, and is an exploration of African music and his new instrument, the mandingue balafon. He has previously released music under the alias Robbie Rulah, and also plays with artists such as Ale Möller and Ebo Krdum as well as running Jambadon Music.
