Long Journey by Robin Blakey
Coming out on December 6 th , this single is a melancholic, happy,
energetic, alt-pop song.
Accompanying one shot music video made with Director Hannah
Bloom premiers December 6 th at 1pm also.
Written after going to Barcelona in 2019, the song is about trying
to find some friends in a park while really stoned. Finding them at
the top of a hill, a viewpoint out over Barcelona and not having any
interest in the view or the scenery or anything like that – because
seeing my friends’ faces again was more than I could have ever
asked for.
The second verse focuses on squeezing all the time we can out of
these moments. Festivals, parties, holidays, life.
A simple chord sequence, a slightly chaotic combination of
instruments and a synth solo thrown in the middle. This track is as
honest as I could make it. It’s how it feels to see friends. It’s how it
feels to spend time.
