Robert Lee "Sonny" Wood was born in Winston Salem, NC on 7/30/1938. When he was 13, his mother relocated him and his grandmother to Baltimore, MD. A poem that Robert's mother use to recite to him when he was just a tiny tot, would be indelibly etched in his mind and be the source of his poetic efforts.
That experience would motivate Robert to unleash the inevitable - a passion for poetry.
