I hear ghosts in the woodwork, I hear ghosts in the dark,
They talk to me, of the changing seasons
They run and they play and they dance and they laugh...
I see faces in the stone work, features that I know somehow
Crumbling in the acid rain,
A picture for the future the past to the here and now...a ghost of a smile.

These walls have memories, engrained like dust through the years
In the eaves and the ceilings, in the wear on the treads of the stairs
And not just the sorrow, not just the pain...they echo of sunshine, puddles and rain
And not just of children forgotten and grown...they echo of love and the wild oats that were sown.
I walk with strangers ,I’ve come to know
And given time, the story grows
Their stories endless, the fabric of this place
And maybe someday you’ll hear a voice and see the shadow of my face
The ghost of a smile...
