Informed Consent is a legal term meaning that a person has given their agreement based on a clear understanding of the facts and consequences involved.
This album, Informed Consent, is the result of Japanese artist GAK SATO’s collaboration with a diverse group of musicians from various genres and cultural backgrounds. Featuring Steve Piccolo (Lounge Lizard), Elliott Sharp (Carbon Orchestra), Tica (Japan), Mama! Milk (Japan), and Roberto Cecchetto (of Enrico Rava’s Electric Five), this project brings together different musical worlds—something that has been a key theme throughout Gak Sato’s career.
On this record, Gak also experiments with non-musical instruments and explores sounds on instruments he doesn’t know how to play, all in the pursuit of a fresh way to interact with music. Creativity and communication are at the heart of this unique and exciting album.
