Anyone encased in what looks like a metal sheet is OK in the Junk Shop. Hugo Ball was one of the chief innovators of the Dada movement at the Zurich Cabaret Voltaire club and his bag was sound poetry. Back in 1916, he was more interested in the way words fell together and exploded against each other and these recordings from back in the day display that perfectly. It’s eight minutes that will change your life as he spars with fellow Dadaists including his girlfriend (later wife) Emmy Hemmings. Proper Punk.
