ripple from solitaires 2011 by Rick Tarquinio

legend has it, chinese poet li po drowned when in a drunken reverie he leaned over the side of his boat to embrace the moon's reflection and fell in. "ripple" is dedicated to him. the field recording is of the first frogs of spring and the accidental stonaphone part consists of 2 loops naturally phasing that are slowed down to lower the pitch and effected.

My music is created very simply using improvisation, chance procedures or accidental means. I also do a lot of field recording and sound experiments using natural forces to create sound. I used to be a singer/songwriter in a past life, but every caterpillar has its day...
