The Grit: RG's vocals are a focal point - raw, honest, and laced with the weary wisdom of a blue-collar life. The guitars are equally unrestrained, moving from clean, reverb-drenched twang to distorted, blues-rock snarls.
The Y’alternative: It defies easy categorization. While the themes and instrumentation (steel guitar, mandolin) nod to Americana, the attitude is pure country rock defiance.
