mcconville joins Resist-AV with 'ep2'.

'ep2' is a technicoloured, melody-laden, emotional, late-night drive alone. It is a part of mcconville's ongoing experimentation with vocals, continuing to explore the voice as the prime instrument, manipulating vocal recordings digitally, opening them up into new sonic planes in a digital pop context.

'ep2' is a story told out of order about ending up alone in a city at night. The music represents the feeling you get when you’re in a strange place - probably drunk and have been separated from everyone you are meant to be with. The feeling when you’re in a place that’s really full and the streets are full of those flashing neon lights and open signs from chippies and pubs and you’re just completely alone.

mcconville is a classically trained composer, currently a doctoral researcher in composition. He has released his compositions through Schematic records, Apollo Records and Resist-AV, gaining support from BBC Radio 1, RTÉ Lyric, Radio France and electronic music duo Plaid (Warp Records), among others. He has been commissioned by the City of Culture celebrations, and broadcast as part of Warp Records 25th Anniversary Essential Mix.
