Rising by Baba Mac
A possible summer hit here for Vancouver dance music artist Baba Mac. Rising combines a DJ friendly backdrop of classic driving house beats and deep bass, making way for an infectious and uplifting melody that sounds like a return to pure innocence on the floor. RF label boss Rennie Foster lays the melody out in a different way with an additional vocal element and more meticulous and skeletal, fried minimal techno percussion. A promising RF debut for a rising talent.

The sound of RF, the label, is much like a Rennie Foster DJ set, a unique style that references several eras and genres, and yet remains completely distinct. RF pays homage to Detroit techno, Chicago house music, B-boy culture and all other subculture that fuels Rennie's rebellious and infamous presence in the underground.
