Heinz Rebellius' solo album “1990” will be released on November 15, 2024 - an instrumental album. Except for one track, the work is without vocals and focuses on the electric guitar as the central element.
“1990” comprises 11 tracks and is dedicated to the combination and reinterpretation of different musical styles. Rebellius draws on genres such as surf, Italo-Western, rock'n'roll, blues, South American rhythms and ambient, merging them into a unified, in many moments cinematic sound. The electric guitar serves as a connecting element that unites the different musical influences into a coherent overall work.
Rebellius' music is like a cinematic soundtrack without a movie - it evokes images that come to life in the listener's mind and moves freely through spaces and moods. Every note seems to hover between the mysterious melancholy of an Italo-Western and the rebellious freedom of rock'n'roll, forming atmospherically dense moods that characterize the individual tracks of '1990'.
Top tracks of the album “1990” The opening song Siesta Red creates powerful images of desert landscapes, dusty roads, and glittering Pacific waves with striking guitar riffs, far-reaching melodies, and dynamic rhythms.
This is followed by Back To NYC, a calm, intense track that explores the feeling of home.
Glass Sky is a reflective composition created in remembrance of the endless suffering that wars inflict and have inflicted on humanity.
Ice Breaker, an unusual track in the style of an alpine waltz, seems to plow its way through majestic mountain landscapes with icy guitar sounds, always close to the abyss.

Background of the artist
Heinz Rebellius made indie rock history around 1990 as guitarist and co-mastermind of 'Cliff Barnes and the Fear of Winning', but has also made a name for himself in other musical projects as a studio musician (including Phillip Boa), songwriter, and producer (including Luca). At the same time, he has built a highly regarded career as a journalist with his expertise as a music and guitar author.
