Yn Canu by Ratatosk
Ratatosk is a downbeat folk project of Rhodri Viney, a 20+ year veteran of the Welsh music scene, who is also half of Welsh Music Prize nominated Right Hand Left Hand.
Yn Canu is the 11th Ratatosk release, and deals with the usual themes of detachment, the relentless passing of time and cessation of all things - sometimes in a funny way. Musically, it’s an attempt to do something more stripped down than the previous album (to mixed success) and to release an album that was under 40 minutes (a total success!)
Mae Ratatosk yn prosiect gwerin drist Rhodri Viney sydd wedi chwarae yn y sîn cerddoriaeth Cymraeg am dros 20 flwyddyn, ac yn hanner y band Right Hand Left Hand, a oedd wedi'i nomineiddio i'r Gwobr Gerddoriaeth Gymreig yn 2016 a 2020.
Mae'r albwm hwn yn delio â themâu arferol Ratatosk, sef datodiad, amser yn pasio yn gyflym ac y diwedd o bob peth - weithiau mewn ffordd ddoniol. Yn gerddorol, mae'n ymgais i wneud rhywbeth mwy sbâr na'r albwm blaenorol ac i ryddhau albwm sy’n llai na 40 munud (roedd yr agwedd hon yn llwyddiant llwyr).
