Lyrics
Forest
I set out on my own
to see what I could build
with my own two hands
to build a home
for me under the trees
well I made a roof
for the boughs
and the walls the trunks of pines
I'd made a home to call my own
and rest my weary head
so at peace
and fast asleep
I didn't hear the storm coming
it started with a pitter patter
and moved on to the rain
then it came down in sheets
and then the hail came
then the wind picked up
and it began to howl
and I woke up to
my house blowing down
well it ripped me outta bed
sent the blood rushing from my head
the floor beneath began to shake
it was more than my heart could take
the wind did lift me like a toy
and I blacked out amidst the noise
that terrible sound
a thunder that shook the earth
so I gathered my senses
and took my leave
of the forest that didn't want me
