This gospel collection makes a great addition to Stanley’s vast discography. Dr. Stanley has chosen a variety of songs that range from the lined-out hymn “Why Should We Start and Fear to Die” to Dolly Parton’s “Shine On.”. There are traditional classics like "Palms of Victory" and "I'll Fly Away" and songs by local stand out groups like the Mullins Family. This is a powerfully moving album, an excellent release by one of the most distinctive artists ever to perform mountain gospel.

Ralph Stanley’s legendary career spanned nearly 70 years, with 50 of those leading the Clinch Mountain Boys. His long relationship with Rebel Records began in 1971 with Cry From The Cross, a gospel masterpiece.
Ralph’s band became a proving ground for bluegrass greats like Keith Whitely and Ricky Skaggs. His popularity surged again with the song "Oh Death" in the movie "Brother Where Art Thou".
