GOD

Day again
Morning bells ringing
And in the hallway
They're still singing
Some walking out
Some walking in
Laughing loud
That's a sin

In the mist of the valley
The gangs still lurk
See coming out
Some of the jerks
And they whisper
Try not to make a sound
Spread out to make sure
Nobody'll get out

I'm in my suit again
As I'm walking to the door
Then suddenly
I hear those guns that roar
She's hiding 'neath the blanket
I get ready to fight
And tell her to get up
To run and hide

We race the hallways and then
Are nearly at my car
But there are three guys
That won't let us get far
They gun her down
I rise and call
"You better run
Now I'm the god of war"

The sunrise
And I got death in my eyes
Feel the breaking bones
A heart that dies
There's blood on my hands
And all over my suit
The grapes of wrath
Are bitter fruits
