Rullo by Raimond Ford

Moved by childhood's recollections of industrial cities and landscapes from a bygone era, Raimond Ford imagines a scenery of the 30s, where a group of laborers in the suburbs tirelessly work on the street to lay down the pavement. A young mother walks down the alley with her baby in the pram and, visibly in awe, observes a rudimentary steamroller that stops awhile before resuming to relentlessly squash down everything on its way. RULLO came to life imagining an operating road roller, hence the sounds ranging from the emptiest vacuum to the richest ambience with mechanical noises conceiving an ineffable sense of stratified cathartic comeback, quite unlike anything else in the medium. Coming in 4 versions, RULLO is emblematic of electronic music as it consists of a first base version track ("Positive Control Mix"), two enriched variants ("Cracked Engine Mix" and "Cooling Down Mix") with one new layer each and a fourth final interpretation ("Free Spinning Mode Mix") that represents the compelling culmination of all sonorities.
