Moonlight Dialogues by Raccoon and The Invisible Band

Moonlight Dialogues is a deep space lunar jazz suite — intimate, acoustic, timeless. Inspired by the fragile lyricism of Chet Baker and the modal echoes of Miles Davis, these recordings imagine what jazz would sound like if played inside a silent crater under eclipse light.

Legend says the first takes were captured in July 1969, the same week Apollo 11 touched the Moon. A group of drifters, obsessed with sound and silence, recorded ballads in a dim studio, leaving the tapes unmarked, hidden in a box labeled “Do Not Open Until Lunar Eclipse”.

Decades later, the reels resurfaced, magnetic dust intact. Trumpet and saxophone converse like voices across orbit, piano sustains clusters that resonate like lunar plains, bass anchors with the pulse of distant gravity, and brushes whisper like drifting dust.

What remains is not only music, but a transmission through time: echoes of an imagined session where Earth’s jazz reached beyond its atmosphere. A reminder that even in silence, jazz still goes on.

Raccoon and the Invisible Band is a secret fellowship of anonymous musicians who embrace invisibility as their stage. Guided by the raccoon traveler, they reinvent echoes of lost songs into lo-fi jazz, ambient realms and cabaret whispers.
