Radiator & Confession by Quick Drop

A series of phases rather than tracks - the debut album from Manchester's Quick Drop is a bizarre entanglement of long-form electronic experiments in murky dub rhythm, and nauseating, industrial texture.

Part improvised biomechanical golem and part in-the-mix meticulousness - the debut album from Quick Drop offers a spectral drift of details - a sonic torrent decomposing and developing throughout its mutilated helix.

Throughout, a dynamic and uncompromising vision unfurls from one passage to the next. A sense of atmospheric minimalism, a sense of chaos and claustrophobia, a succession of sonic trapdoors and pits of unspooling detail.

The live space, within which Ryan-Lewis Walker and Gary Robert Fischer collaborate best, one hinged on a drive to keep dangling bait, snatching it by the scuffs, then spewing it up, only for the feedback process to begin again, is premised upon the magic art of tainting, twisting and teasing out different sections of each phase in the studio afterwards and manipulating them in a cut/paste collage-like fashion.

This compositional headfuck is conducive to the album's enveloping nature: a mangled serpent of unsettling tapestry, a bleak overspill of bastard northwest electronics, plagued coldwave drama and deformed, metropolitan noir.
