Nochmal EP by Purwien & Kowa
There are some things in life that you can't do again: lovingly caressing a high-voltage power line, for example. But there are some things you should definitely do again: Listen to music as it was in the 80s.
This is also what Purwien & Kowa thought, who are releasing the double album 5=2+3+4x12", which only consists of classic 12" versions, just as they habe been invented, loved and danced to in the 80s.
The harbinger of this extensively intensive album is the EP Nochmal (german for once again), which - how could it be otherwise - begins with a 12 "mix of the title track Nochmal. A piece of stadium synth pop that was completely lost at the time.
The track is followed by Disko 80, the title track of the Purwien & Kowa podcast of the same name, incidentally the most successful German-speaking 80s podcast produced by two men without hair.
The track is topped by a completely re-recorded version of the Second Decay classic I hate Berlin, which shows a lot of love and respect for the original version. Connoisseurs can look forward to the 12 "version of the song on the upcoming album.
Next is the dance floor-filling extended Nine Seconds 12 "mix of the Iggy pop classic The Passenger followed by Alle Fehler, a phenomenal duet with NDW godfather Joachim Witt. This version was made by the - in contrast to Purwien & Kowa - very well-known British electropop band Client, who dropped the track in Marmite - very tasty, as the British say.
The EP concludes with the 7" version of Nochmal, which subtly invites you to listen to the entire EP again.
5=2+3+4x12", the new album by Purwien & Kowa will be released on Christmas Eve as download and CD, so that it can't be played on radio together with Last Christmas.
