Purient is the pseudonym of DIY electronic producer and vocalist, Kate Durman. A fixture of Naarm’s thriving underground electronic music scene (and one-third of ultra-emotive dream-pop band Acopia), Purient creates sonic worlds that encompass both the ethereal and the brash; subverting pop archetypes to produce shimmering astral textures, ominous synths and dizzying experimental arrangements.
