Autumn Avenue from Autumn Sketchbook by Pumpkin Friend
Many of the tracks in this collection are in pairs: Autumn Avenue is the counterpart to Purple Leaves. Recorded on the same day and sharing the same intention and procedure, this short sketch is a meditation on my childhood home and the street I grew up on. In the lyrics, I'm imagining walking down the avenue, once again, during late October. I am back in time and everything is the way that I recall it in my youth.
I like that the guitar figure is even more stripped in this one—a mere four notes, repeated with subtle rhythmic variation.

Grinning from the windows

I can smell the burning leaves
As I shuffle along on my feet
