I was something once, all bright and new,

When my eyes were brightly shining, in the laughter and crying

There was someone once, he was good and true,
He’s been gone for a long time now

I remember the why’s and how

When my legs were strong and sturdy and I walked the hills and journeyed,
Standing pints and rising early to milk the jersey cow.

That was long ago, the only one who knows what it was back then is me
Even I don’t know, it’s like a movie show there inside my memories

When I’d meet you bright and shining between laughter and crying,
