Schizophrenia from Plethora by Polido
Plethora [pleth-er-uh]: overabundance; excess.
Before being officially affiliated with the Monster Jinx crew and label, young gun Polido released a mini-album, on his own, entitled “Side A”. That work featured almost exclusively sample-based productions and showcased his pendor for experimentation.
Yet, he needed more. He became obsessed with the possibilites. So he dove back into his lab.
For quite some time, he kept himself knee-deep sampling, re-sampling, twisting and bending sounds. He kept his methods, but the array of options fascinated him so much that he had to be forced to stop before his conscience fused with his music.
That’s what Plethora is. It’s Side B of Polido own’s mind and willingness to explore further and further with sound. Plethora is the moment when overabundance and chaos are almost, just almost, controlled.
