Welcome to my first beat tape. Hope you can relax around here.
The intention behind these tracks is to make you feel a sense of presence, for lack of better words. An ethereal, dreamlike feeling of stillness, of being in the moment. Like when you pause everything for a moment and you look up, or watch the city from above at sunset, and in a moment of clarity you are reminded that you are not alone, that you’re not your job, that you are not the grades you get in school, you are not what others think of you.
It all sounds a bit too epic and vaguely embarrassing when you write it down, but in reality it’s a very simple idea, and I was thinking about it while working on the beats.
If this mixtape becomes the soundtrack to a night walk around where you live or a day spent going across miles as you sit in a train and watch everything pass by, I’d be more than happy.
