555 by Plastic Crouton

This is the biggest project I’ve ever completed in my life. I’m here now posting it on Bandcamp just around half a year after it was released on other streaming services.

This took me about a year and a half to produce, mix, and master on my own. I had the constant help and support from all of my friends, and I wouldn’t have completed it if it weren’t for them. Plastic Crouton is something that was started as a joke in 2018 when I was in 10th grade band class… where I met Nick and Owen, who are also on this album. It was originally an attempt to make the most unlistenable rap music possible, and if you check out the early work on my SoundCloud, you’ll see what I mean.

Now, it’s something entirely different. It’s still a huge joke, but something I’ve put countless hours into. I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve created, as now, to me, it’s genuinely decent music that can still make someone laugh out of how absurd it is. I’m proud of the beats I’ve made, the lines I’ve written, and the friends I’ve worked with.

I don’t know when or if I’ll release more Plastic Crouton music. I want to make some more serious music at some point, of course, but not under this name. This isn’t a note of hiatus or anything, as I always have new ideas that I write down almost every day. I just have so much going on in my life, so it’s hard to devote thousands of hours into another 20 minute music project. No matter what happens, this will always be here, and be something I can say I created, even if it’s a huge joke at its core.
