Without You by Pink Matter

Without You showcases a softer side to Pink Matter. The track takes lush synths and a garage-inspired bassline and creates a melancholic space similar to disassociating in an Uber on a night out after a breakup.

The track really encapsulates the ‘crying in the club’ feeling and was born from anger, sadness, frustration and the need to pick yourself back up and find what makes you feel like yourself after the breakdown of a long-term relationship. On the lyrical content, bassist and debut vocalist on the track Izzy says, “By the time we were recording it I wasn’t upset anymore, and I sort of delivered it in a quietly condescending way - how someone can make you feel so small is just wild”.

Three young classically trained jazz musicians playing club-ready dance music. Pink Matter have supported Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Internet, Mildlife, and been booked for the country’s biggest festivals, Splendour In The Grass, Laneway and Pitch.
