Chocolate Milk by Picnic Day

Pour me some; use the good glass.
The plastic 16oz cup with snowmen on the sides.
Snowmen love sweatshirts. Every snowman has one on.
Preferred drink: chocolate milk.
Carl, two individuals counting left from the cake table, firms up;
his fat fingers juggling a loaded plastic fork;
there is sweat lingering on the cleft above his eyebrows.
His choice seems to lolly, but the gently stirred chocolate milk is in sight. There is chest hair sticking to my shirt.
Hastily, I rip it off.
Silence accounted as present becomes bold.

Left alone with my own thoughts, my milk, and silence....

...until the fanciful lace becomes suffocating.
